Yes or No to Internship

Yesterday I was invited by one of mine close friend PP to write a post about mine internship experience which I had during this summers. Don’t worry guys I am not going to tell a cock and bull story .Internship word always had been very fantasizing for me and so as company. Yes of course like others, glamour of corporate life of software industry enticed me to do the internship in a company.

Finally I found myself sitting in the corporate office of Resistant Sis meeting with Mr. SK—my potential mentor. I had doubts in my mind about the project and work details but some where I was finding myself in comfortable zone as I was not alone in the internship. We had strength of 16 people from my college (Potential Entrepreneurs and Consultants: AKS , PP, Ayush, Kankariya ,Kaluri, Neelima) (Geek Coders : Sidharth S, Siddharh Ch.,Atul, Srikar,Mani,Tony,Vipin, Vaibhav,Vidya, Pallavi ). My first 15 days at Resistant consisted of getting all my accounts, passwords and access card straightened out. In the coming days, I was given my first project. I had to do some work on Open source. I was not familiar with the OS provided to me. It was a little overwhelming and frustrating having never used it.( Really I like to work on windows few clicks and your 90% work is done.) So I and mine partner “X” were little bothered and we went to our mentor. He was patient, understanding and knew that we should have some learning experience. He told us to do Googling. Really believe guys, when you are not in power Google comes to you for remedy. The whole project was done by the help of Google alone .Moreover mine partner X who carried out almost 99%work in the project started liking some chick in the company. He spent some wonderful time with her by hook or by crook.

I used to start every morning taking coffee (I don’t like tea) and reading jokes sent by Mr. “AKS” I am grateful to you dude well I was not alone who enjoyed the jokes forwarded by him but many of us did, solving Sudoku which I never able to complete then little work followed by lunch. The most frustrating policy of the company was not to browse social networking sites …. Yes you are right that is orkut and streaming sites.. WebSense sucks man! Well as you know all we cant live without these so we found alternatives for that :). My friend PP motivated me to explore more about monto’s short stories .As I had some inclination towards shayari and poetry from mine childhood. So I enjoyed that also. Luckily I got a chance to work with Kankariya and others in Games Testing. We faced lot of challenges but we never lost. It’s really cool to do :P.

Sometimes the babbling of mine female colleagues and frustrating sound of typing (keyboard) tak tak tik tak tak …… would have shown me the way to Agra. But some how I resisted.

I think I learned a lot from mine internship. Even at the zenith of completion of the project we really enjoyed the relaxed environment of the company (coffee, tea, lunch and snacks of course free of cost :) ).This internship was a nine day’s wonder for me.

SaY No To InTeRnS.....

Pranjal first of all this was a very good initiative ... kya karein photo to sabko dekhni hoti hai ki kaun nayi laundiya mili kise .. :D

well as for me I was at home for 3 months since to be frank i was missing being at home. (pichle 1 saal se nahin gaya tha yaar aur fees bhi to leni thi) and the next reason was ... :P socha thoda aur aaram kar lun. Well I did my interns in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant not to mention but i frankly did not do anything at all in my interns.

Well i started off with carring somebooks with me (CAT) but the motivation also drained away after I was exposed to the wonders of Television Serials. Yo i saw a lot of movies in the holidays ranging from Mithun Da to Dilip Kumar ... and Shahrukh to Mallika :P ..

Coming back to interns .. I was trying to proceed with my work in speech recognition for about 15 days and then again I lost track of it. The best of it came for me when I visited my relatives and had a fortnight of all India Trip. The thing I missed the most for the past yrs in IIITM was home cooked food which I had plenty ... :P.

well the most intresting part was when the ppl at persistant got their gtalk access in the morning you could see them all flocking up their messenger windows to find someone to chat with. (for some reasons after sometime i had to go invisible...)

the most comic part of all was when vaibhav complained to me that none of the persi guys was ready to go out to have dinner and he had to eat alone everyday. (Kanoojuson ki fauj thi wahan ... )

then there was Jitesh who being local used to keep calling me whenever he was free ... (bahut chata karta tha yaar ... pata nahin sari frustration mere pe nikalta tha ... )

and you could see kunal working late at night .... every day ... pata nahin SUN ke timings kya the .. woh to raat bhar kaam karta tha aur subeh sota tha .. :P

Mukesh and Ashok were always complaining abt "yaar raat ke 8 baj rahe hain aur abhi tak dhoop hai yahan" Spain (for thoes who donno where they were).

Namit Mishra had enjoyed a lot u can see his orkut album for the pics ... from orkut i remembered ... Jitesh
sorry jitu .. kya karun

well story goes like this ... jitesh just by mistake put up a pic of his and a co-intern in MS .. and I happened to look at it.... aur kya karein control to hota hai nahin ... to maine bhi ek scrap maar diya ...
the next thing i knew was that pic was removed and that girl went out of orkut .. :(
thats a sad lovestory for Jitesh ... par koi baat nahin dude better luck next time ..

well this was a briefing of what happend at interns ... to summarise ... I was just jobless... (:)

Mayur Gupta

My internship experience at persistent systems nagpur

I would like to invite all of my batch mates to write about their internship experience on this blog.

Idea of writing yet another bakwas post is influenced by my friends who are continuously adding snaps of their internship location in orkut album.
To be honest I don’t remember exactly when did I do any work last time in the office, May be in the last week of May. But for the last couple of weeks I have spent time in exploring Sufism, Manto, budhha etc etc.

Well apart from all this I did some work also.

It was a great experience. During this period I went through ups & downs of life....but at the end it was great.

Life During Internship

Hi everyone.I have been asked to contribute to this blog. Many of the great personalities ,likes of Mayur( deliberately not used his nick name :P) PP Jitu, have already contributed to this so its really a privilege :)

So talking of the interns the first thing that comes to my mind is waking up at 6 so that I may get some space in the local bus.I was at Bangalore during the internship period, during which I had a taste of how Devastating the life would become after college :( No corridor masti,no bakar only serious stuff.

I remember going to MG Road and Brigade road on weekends with Kunal and Ankit , who also happened to be there. It seemed that weekends finished before they ended. One very important thing that I want to mention is Bangalore's weather. Its awesome and even during June its moderate( but horrible traffic offsets that :P) If you are caught in a crowded local then you had it.It could become a nightmare if you have to stand and travel 20 km in a local.

Well the 3 month period was filled with many ups and downs.I think that is what life is all about.Bangalore was a fun place and full of pubs :)) I also wanted to go to Mysore which was just around 2hrs journey from there, but things could not formulate for that.

I also tasted many south Indian delicacies some of them were - Andhra thali, ginger rice, and some more whose names i have forgotten by now.

Overall it was a nice experience and I really look forward to reading others experiences as well in the coming posts.
